MP Helps the Needy Donates 60 Bags of Rice
Member of Parliament for Constituency 99, Hon. Alimamy Gibrilla Kargbo, has donated over 60 bags of rice to different Ataya Bases and Mosques in his constituency.
The ceremony took place at his residence in Portee on various dates during the Ramadan month.
The MP disclosed that he thought it patriotic and humanitarian to provide food and one hundred thousand Leones cash each to various institutions mentioned above.
He underscored that this is not the first time he has been making such donations to different organizations. He pointed out that the donations were not only for the Ramadan celebration with their families but also a reward for voting for him in the 2012 Parliamentary elections.
He admonished the youths not to be complacent with the Ebola virus as it is still around.
“If you have a sick person please call 117 but don’t touch or wash dead bodies.”
Chairlady for Constituency 99, Mariama Bangura, expressed her maximum appreciation for the good gesture provided for the needy by the Hon. Member of Parliament.
Chairman of Constituency 99, Idrissa Sheriff, called on God Almighty to guide and protect Hon. AG Kargbo, describing him as a good servant the of his constituents.
Councilor Alusine Corade Conteh noted that AG Kargbo is another Moses sent by God to deliver his people from suffering as evident in the fact that he has been donating scholarships to the needy, financially supporting five victims of Ebola, sending people to perform pilgrimage in Mecca, paying rent for several people among his many good works.
