ACC intercepts assorted relief items meant for Ebola victims

The  Anti-Corruption Commission on Monday 9th February 2015, at the Makeni environs, intercepted and impounded 105 bags of bulgur, 68 bags of cornflower, and 30 cartons of vegetable oil; all labeled “not for sale.” These items are purportedly donated for relief supplies to Ebola victims.

The 30 cartons of refined vegetable oil were intercepted in a commercial minivan with registration number AGR-236 along the Kabala Highway at Timbo in Makeni. ACC investigation leads pointed to a residence at ABB Line, Talent Town, Makeni, where 105 bags of bulgur and 68 bags of cornflower were latterly discovered.

Meanwhile, the suspects, one Isatu Conteh and Pa Mohamed Koroma, are assisting the Commission with the investigation. Further updates on development will be made to the public in due course.

Meanwhile, the public is hereby reassured of the Commission’s undeterred determination to rid corruption in the nation’s fight against Ebola. (“dapekin way say e mama nor go sleep, in sef nor go sleep.”)
