Sankoh helps Lankaran to 4-0 win

Alfred Zagalo Sankoh was pleased with Khazar Lankaran home performance in their 4 – 0 hammering of Baki on Sunday in the Azerbaijan premier league.

The summer signing bagged his first goal for the season and club in the 35th minute and made a setup for G Ivanov 2 minutes later to put his side 2-0 ahead. 5 minutes later Lankaran made it 3-0 as C. Cafarov smashed in a volley from Brazilian Wanderson in the 43rd minute making it 3-0 before halftime. The home side started from the interval with total ball control making it very hard for the visitors from the capital as they were left with 10 men on the pitch as E.Manafov was shown his second yellow in the 69th minute.

Sankoh came close in the 72nd minute from a set piece as his shot hit the woodwork, 5 minutes later Aliyev sealed the fourth goal for the home side in the 79th minute.

After a good perfiormance for his side the Sierra Leonean attacking midfielder made way for A. Ishmayinov in the 85th minute.

“Yeah, I am happy to score for my team. We played well today at home and a great team performance as well,” an excited he told www.Football Sierra Leone.Net.

“I don’t have any (goals) target really. I just want to keep playing well and scoring for my team, and we will see how many at the end of the season.

“I think we can finish among the first four teams at the end of the season, but for me I just take the games as they come.”

Meanwhile Khazar Lankaran has moved up to 5th position on the league table after their 4-0 win over Baki with just 8 games played with 11 points.
