Kenema District UMWO helps in the fight against Ebola

Speaking at the ceremony, the District Superintendent of the United Methodist Church Kenema District Rev Andrew G. Forbie said that a cross section of the UMWO in Kenema District are doing a presentation of which the idea came from their national executive members in Freetown western area and the over roll spiritual head of the UMC conference Bishop J.K. Yambasu who is always by their side in providing support to them.
Presenting the items, the District Coordinator of UMWO Mad. Auldine M. Koroma said that this deadly virus called Ebola is a very dangerous one and has taken the lives of meaningful Sierra Leoneans, adding that as an organization they saw the need of joining hands in the fight against this disease.
Mad. Koroma reiterated they decided to join the fight with the following items: 3 bags of rice, a bag of salt, a bag of onions, a batter cooking oil and an envelope containing Le2 million and stated that on behalf of their Bishop, National Executive and UMWO Kenema District she is presenting the items and the envelope for the quarantine areas and the Ebola patients who are hospitalized of which they are not only going to stop to the donation at the task force center but that the activity is going to continue to their sub-stations within the district.
Receiving the items, the Chairman of the Kenema District Ebola Task Force team Bunting Grading thanked the UMWO Kenema District for their gesture and called on them to continue the fight as the fight against Ebola is not one man business and therefore calls on other organizations to copy from UMWO Kenema District and promised that the materials will be used for their intended purposes.
