No good road to Mount Zion

The Mount Zion community in Calaba Town in the East of Freetown is reported to be suffering severely from a very deplorable road network, a situation that is said to have worsened during this rainy season.

The ugly situation has become a cause for the concern of the residents who have reported their plight to government through the New Site Development Committee (NSDC)

Explaining the plight of the residents during an interview with SEM in the Mount Zion community, the Secretary General of NSDC, Alfred Sesay, said the roads in the community are laden with thousands of potholes which have made the community difficult to access via vehicles, noting that even pedestrians find it extremely difficult to ply the roads.

The terrible roads, he went on, have been even preventing kids from going to school regularly as the kids find it difficult to walk on the deplorable roads to their various schools.

Mr. Sesay disclosed that although the African Muslim Agency has built a school and are constructing a mosque in the community, the bad roads are threatening to cut off the community from the rest of Freetown.

On behalf of the community, he pleaded earnestly with government to rehabilitate the deplorable roads.
