SUNDAY IS RAMADAN, SAUDI ARABIA ANNOUNCES

The fasting month of Ramadan begins in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, as nobody sighted the new crescent on Friday.

Tomorrow, 28th June, 2014 will be the 30th day of Shaaban and the holy month of Ramadan will begin on 29th June, the Royal Court in Saudi Arabia said in an official statement. The Royal Court’s announcement was based on a decision taken by the Supreme Court after meeting this evening.

Meanwhile, Social Welfare Minister, Alhaji Moijue Kaikai who is currently in Saudi Arabia  on a special assignment given to him by His Excellency the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has joined Sierra Leone’s resident Ambassador in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Alhaji M.S. Kargbo to congratulate all Muslims in advance on the advent of the holy month.

Both Government functionaries also called on all Sierra Leoneans to use this holy period to pray for the progress, prosperity, sustainable peace and development of their country.
