Ex-consul to resolve NDA impasse

The former honorary consul to Spain, Alhaji Ahmed Jalloh has disclosed in an exclusive interview to Sierra Express Media that he is not happy with the allegations made by the former leader Alhaji Amadu M.B. Jalloh that the new interim bodies are rebels of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Alhaji Jalloh further disclosed that he is not happy with the way and manner things are going simply because the NDA is the third largest party in Sierra Leone and a force to reckon with. The party was manipulated by one former executive, Mr. M.B. Jalloh but unfortunately for them they did not succeed but have corrected their mistakes. He indicated that they recently miss their chance to capture state house and parliament; he added that he is calling on them to show understanding and support the NDA come out next presidential and parliamentary elections come 2018.

He highlighted among other things that plans are under way for other APC, SLPP, PMDC and UDM officials to join the NDA very soon. He debunked the allegation that the NDA is a Fullah party which is not true as we have Temenes, Limbas, Susu, Mandigoes, Creoles, and Mendes etc in our current interim executive adding this is just to distract the NDA but they will not succeed.

Asked whether he intends to contest for the NDA leadership, he said when the time comes he will informed the public accordingly but his present focus is to bring peace to NDA. He pointed out that ever since he joined the NDA, he has brought in a lot of people into the party because of his leadership style. “I am very concerned over the rate at which people are suffering in the country as people cannot afford a daily meal as the APC government needs to do more even when they are concentrating on infrastructural development but much needs to be done to improve the lives of the people”. Jalloh stressed.

Asked whether he has a base as his strong hold to head a political party, he said yes as he is very popular in the northern region, western area, Urban and south. As for Kono, it is my second home because I have done a lot of investment and created jobs for over hundred people there.

On behalf of the NDA party, he called on the government of Sierra Leone to heighten the sensitization to Ebola affected areas like Kailahun and the other six boarder districts that are more vulnerable.
