In Sierra Leone Standard Chartered Bank Supports Free Breast Cancer Screening

Standard Chartered Bank through its Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Platform donated Le15 Million to Thinking Pink Breast Cancer Foundation in support of free breast cancer screening, at the Chamber of Commerce Trade Fair, National Stadium, Freetown, Sierra Leone.

In the last decade, Sierra Leone has been no exception in promoting Breast Cancer Awareness, a disease that was silently killing our women folk in the country.

The intervention of stakeholder organisations including the Thinking Pink Foundation has helped significantly in raising awareness of the disease among the populace. These stakeholder organisations made a clarion call on the public and private sectors to increase their participation in supporting Breast Cancer issues as every woman is at a risk of having Breast Cancer.

Standard Chartered Bank is already taking the lead in ‘Saying No to Breast Cancer in Sierra Leone.

Having been considered a valued stakeholder in the Fight against the disease, staff of the Bank volunteered in the screening and awareness raising process at the Chamber of Commerce Trade Fair as a way of encouraging, supporting and providing assistance to the female folk who participated in the screening exercise.

Addressing women during the screening process, D&I Champion of the Bank, Fanta Kamara said:
