Speaker Attends First CPA Conference
The Speaker of Parliament, Hon. S.B.B. Dumbuya, is in London for the Mid-Year Executive Committee Meeting of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), presently holding at St. James’ Court till 5th May, 2014.
The meeting brings together Speakers as heads of legislatures of the Commonwealth, who will be making arrangements for the wider sixtieth CPA conference to be held later in the year. The meeting will also hear reports of sub-committees; look into ways of strengthening smaller CPA branches and elect a chairperson for the Executive Committee itself.
This promises to be the first of multiple representations at the CPA, by the newly-elected Speaker and head of Sierra Leone’s Legislature.
