After and land quarrel in Kono stakeholders meet President Koroma

Stakeholders of Kono district in the Eastern part of the country on Wednesday 19th March, 2014 met with His Excellency, President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma at State House to discuss a land dispute between the Vice President, Chief Samuel Sumana (in photo) and one Madam Phebian Fengai Abdulai.

Stakeholders include Paramount Chiefs, Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, Hon. Musa Tarawally and the Inspector General of police, Francis Munu in respect of a land dispute between the Vice President and one Mada Phebian Fengai Abdulai.

Presentations in respect to the disputed land and stability in Kono generally were made to H.E the President by the Deputy Minister of Political and Public Affairs Minister, Karamoh Kabba and Paramount Chief Paul Gabba Saquee of Tankoro Chiefdom, Kono hence the custodian of the disputed land.

Karamoh Kabba’s presentations were supported by PowerPoint footage with thugs throwing missiles at Madama Phebian and her workers.

After watching at the footage, H.E wasted no time as the facts spoke for themself and he immediately asked the Vice President “Sam Sumana I thought you hadfenced your compound? Why are you disturbing other people out of your compound?” he asked again. “Sam stay in your compound and Phebian go and continue your work,” he said.

The President also admonished the Mayor of Koidu City Council,  His Worship Emmerson Laminah that he had been receiving complaints about him.  “I have had a lot of complaints about you but I shall discuss with the minister,” the President said.

Finally, His Excellency ordered the Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, Hon. Musa Tarawally and the Inspector General of police, Francis Munu to go to Kono and properly demarcate the disputed land.
