DTO Eastern Police Station raised Le155 million in 2013

The District Traffic Officer of the Eastern Police Station, Inspector Saidu Mike Kargbo, succeeded in raising the sum of Le155 million from traffic cases sent to Court from January 2013  to December 2013.

Explaining his great achievement to this paper, he stated that the drivers were arrested for various offences ranging from half way, operating or regulating mobile phones while driving, driving without driving licenses or rider licenses, using unauthorized routes, driving unregistered, unlicensed, and uninsured vehicles and failing to fasten  seat belts.

He indicated that spot fines reported to the Sierra Leone Road Transport Authority (SLRTA) totaled Le14 million for 2013.

He highlighted among other things that fatal road accident cases reported within his area of responsibilities was 333,  (2 fatal, 18 seriously injured and 315 slightly injured).

He also disclosed that 848 cases were sent to Court for the year 2013.

In a snap survey, a cross section of drivers and commuters this Reporter spoke to described Inspector Saidu Mike Kargbo as one of the best District Traffic Officers in Sierra Leone Police who they say has distinguished himself both nationally and internationally to the admiration or the Executive Management Board (EMB) of the Sierra Leone Police.

They described him as a firm, focused, dedicated, kind, religious, result oriented and excellent administrator.
