President Koroma’s Special Assistant Hails Saudi King

Special Assistant to Sierra Leone’s President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has hailed the services and facilities provided to this year’s pilgrims by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Alhaji M.S Kargbo (in photo), who also served as the Deputy Chairman of this year’s Sierra Leone Hajj Mission to Saudi Arabia, made the remarks after performing the congregational prayers in the grand Mosque of Makkah yesterday, Friday, 29th November, 2013.

Kargbo who is still in Saudi Arabia on a post hajj programme expressed on behalf of the Sierra Leone National Hajj Coordinating Committee, profound gratitude and appreciation to the Saudi Arabian Government on the success of this year’s hajj (pilgrimage) .

He paid a special tribute to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdallah Bin Abdul Aziz Al- Saud, the Hajj Minister, Dr. Bandar Bin M. Hajjar, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Haj Committee, Prince Muhammad Bin Naif and the entire Government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the provision of large-scale services and facilities provided to pilgrims this year, particularly those from Sierra Leone.

The facilities, he reiterated, enabled his people to perform their Hajj rituals easily and comfortably, describing them as “remarkable and wonderful.” He also lauded the efforts being made by the Saudi government for the expansion project of the Grand Mosque and a number of developmental projects of the Two Holy Mosques (Makkah and Madinah) and other holy sites. He described the projects as “gigantic achievements and new land marks.”

He noted that the King’s achievements show his deep-rooted love for the religion, homeland, nation and humanity, indicating that the King has achieved these accomplishments in a very short period.

This year, 920 Sierra Leoneans successfully performed the hajj – the highest number of pilgrims recorded so far in the history of Sierra Leone.
