We must save our land from ruin by foreign investors

Editor: Thank you, so much for posting  Theophilus S. Genda’s article- DOWN WITH ADDAX’ $200M  “INVESTMENT.”

This article throw light to good number of us “SONS OF THE SOIL” who are from different parts of the world striving hard to improve our reserved land for the benefit of Sierra Leoneans yet unborn.

On no account should this land be sold to foreigners for their sole benefit at the detriment of our people. We had have plans for our future Sierra Leonean Scientists who would have to make full use of this land for the dignity and development of Sierra Leone as a nation every one can be proud of.

Therefore any contract agreement made or/and signed by any Sierra Leonean in respect of land issuance to foreigners for the production of any goods exported out of Sierra Leone for finished production “takes a big risk in doing so”.

We sons of the soil will go all out to make sure that such operations will not be a success.

However operations would go on only if the following be reviewed.

1)       Lease time frame  limited to at least eighteen (18) years initially- to see if the operations could yield adverse effects to both the land and its surrounding people.

2)       The raw produced must be turn to finished products in the host country-has technology advantage to the people of that country

3)       The size of the land be limited to 1/3 (one-third) of initially demanded-Sierra Leone is the second smallest country in Africa or/and the world this means that we have very limited farm land to carry out our cultivation

FEW WORDS ARE MORETHAN ENOUGH FOR THE WISE.
