What does it mean to be saved?

What does it mean to be saved?

To be saved is to be delivered in this present life from the power of sin, by being born again, and cleansed by Jesus Christ’s Spirit.

It is to be freed from the hateful control of sin, the world, and the Devil. By having a new nature put in us by the Holy Ghost.

So whosoever is renewed in the spirit of his mind is a saved soul. That person shall not perish, but shall enter into the glorious Kingdom of God.

To be saved is to be delivered in the Day of Judgment from all the awful consequences of sin. It is to be declared blameless, spotless, faultless, and complete in Jesus Christ, while others are found guilty, and condemned forever.

To be saved is to hear those comforting words, “Come ye blessed” (Mathew 25 :34), while others are hearing those fearful words, “Depart from me, ye cursed”(Mathew 25 :41).

To be saved is to be owned and confessed by Jesus Christ as one of His dear children and servants, while others are disowned and cast off forever.

To be saved is to be declared free from the fate of the wicked, the worm that never dies, the fire that is never quenched, the weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth that never end.

To be saved is to receive the reward prepared for the righteous in the day of Jesus Christ’s second coming- the glorious body-the kingdom that is eternal-the crown that does not fade away, and the joy that is forevermore.

This is the redemption for which true Christians are to look and long.

Consequently, repentance of sins and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ are the only things required for you and I to have our sins forgiven.

That we come by faith to Jesus Christ as sinners confessing our sins-trust in Jesus Christ, rest on Jesus Christ, Lean on Jesus Christ, confide in Jesus Christ, commit our souls to Jesus Christ, and forsaking all other hopes be devoted only to Jesus Christ. This is everything that God asks for.

Brothers and sisters, if you do this you will be saved. Your sins shall be entirely taken away.

Until we meet again, stay blessed and may the Spirit of the Lord continue to be with you.

Amen.
