FIFA sends seven man strong delegation to help raise the game of football in Sierra Leone

World’s governing Football body FIFA, will be sending a high powered delegation to Sierra Leone from the 22nd-29th October 2013 to   conduct a FIFA PERFORMANCE PROGRAM (FPP) with the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) and in a bid to RAISE THE GAME.

The seven man strong delegation will comprise of FIFA Senior Development Program Manager for Africa Francesco Bruscoli, Senior Manager responsible for financial assistance from FIFA Christophe Suppiger, Head of FIFA office in Abidjan Sapon Kablan, Head of Membership Department FIFA, Primo Corvaro, and Strategic analysts specialized in the Media and Technical aspect of football management.

The FPP is a football management program supporting all one hundred and fifty six (156) FIFA member associations. It is aimed at providing management expertise tools and ongoing services to FIFA member associations in order to reinforce their management capacities, structures and operations so that the member associations will be able to reach their maximum potential on and off the pitch.

Also, the delegation amongst other things will be looking at how the FA is going to effectively plan and structure the forth coming Sierra Leone Premier League, FA Cup and Female League under the new direction of the first female President of the SLFA and the second in the world Isha Johansen, so that it ensures continuity and attracts meaningful and sustainable corporate sponsorship and collaborations.

The thorough and intensive analysis of the structures at the FA will take the form of meetings with the executive of the association, the technical and administrative staff and partners and sponsors of the association.

President of the FA, Isha Johansen says ” This falls exactly within the purview and scope of the dawn of a new era and a new direction in sierra Leone Football and it is certainly go to up the output of the Executive and raise the standard of the game exponentially. This program and a FIFA delegation of such size and personnel have never made a visit to Sierra Leone and definitely this signals a NEW ERA in terms of football partnership and cooperation in Sierra Leone.”

As part of the visit, the FIFA delegation, will be guest of honour on the 27th October when the Leone Stars home based team camped and preparing for the West African Football Union – B (WAFU-B) will play host to the revelation and team of the Sierra Leone Premier League, the republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces Football Team (RSLAF FC).

In accordance with article 40 of the FA constitution captioned Standing Committees and Article 40 (2) which states, “The Chairmen and Deputy Chairmen of the standing committees shall be appointed by the Executive Committee with exception of those of the Audit Committee who may not belong to the Executive Committee. The Chairmen of the Standing committees shall be members of the executive Committee where necessary.

The following under mentioned people have been appointed to serve as Chairmen, Deputy Chairmen and members of the standing committees by the Executive Committee of the Sierra Leone Football Association for a period of four years 2013 – 2017:
