Administrator and Registrar General in Public Scorn

While President Ernest Bai Koroma has sleepless nights to chart a suitable way of rebranding the image and economic standard of the country, some unpatriotic government officers prefer to continually throw a spanner in the works of the nation’s father. The latest of such has been identified in the office of the Administrator and Registrar General in Kenema which has been in the bad books of the people of Kenema District. The institution has now been nicknamed ‘Baby Police’ after a Nigerian comedy which is depicting widespread corruption. A senior staff in the office that identified himself as Mohamed Sam is alleged to be issuing fake business registration certificates that do not reflect the actual records in the office.

What is also lacking is a fixed rate of business registration and what actually obtains is that Mohamed Sam and his cronies in the office are engaged in price bargaining to the annoyance of business.

There is a report of a fake business registration certificate issued to a company named Door to Door Waste Management in Kenema at the cost of Le 1 million an issue that brought embarrassment to the government department.

There is another complaint of staff moving from shop to shop harassing people and extorting money from them in the name of business registration.

Mohamed Sam accepted the range of allegations levied against them and revealed that it was a junior colleague that issued the fake business registration that is being referred.

Sam complained of salary delays and disclosed that some other staff of the office are not even on payroll and they have their families to take care of. The people of Kenema are calling on the attention of the government and ACC to intervene and put a halt to these dubious activities of this Office in Kenema.
