Kambia District has realized the long awaited dream to have a modern secondary school for girls.  Thanks to the paramount Chief Bai Farama Tass of Magbema Chiefdom and gesture of the Sunday Foundation, a non-governmental organization based in the Netherlands, for providing the funds for the construction of the six classroom building, with toilet and hand pump water well and other basic facilities.  (Photo: Front view of the newly constructed school)

According to the national coordinator of Sunday Foundation in Sierra Leone, Mohamed Foday Kamara, the building is estimated at €60,000. He acknowledged the work of the contractor and people of Kambia for undertaking a perfectly complete school building which is expected to enhance the educational capacity of the girl in the district.

“Their service is a clear demonstration of the cohesiveness that is required to foster nation building and enhancement of human capacity,” Kamara observed.

Residents of Kambia indicated their appreciation as they look forward to the opening of this school and do hope that it will bring a lot of difference to girl child education and women empowerment in the district.

Admission of JSS 1 has already commenced and parents are in a mad rush on a daily basis to have their children admitted.
