London Mining provides more support to Manonkoh Village

London Mining provides more support to Manonkoh Village

Lunsar- (29 August 2013) – In a goodwill gesture and consistent with the company’s donation policy, London Mining on 29 August donated 175 bags of rice and water well purifiers to the people of Manonkoh Village, which has been affected by several incidents of flooding due to heavy rains within the region.

While handing over the items, London Mining’s Deputy Community Relations Manger Mohamed Saticon Conteh said the intent is for each household in the Manonkoh Village to receive some rice and chlorine tablets to improve the water quality of a well constructed in the village by the Company. He emphasized that the flooding was not caused by London Mining’s operations and that the relief and humanitarian assistance provided by the company was in the spirit of being good neighbours.

Relief

Paramount Chief Bai Koblo Queen II of Marampa Chiefdom thanked London Mining for the donations and called on the company to continue its good work in assisting people within the Chiefdom.

Speaking on behalf of the Manonkoh Community Headman Mohamed Fofanah also praised the company for the relief support.

In May this year, London Mining donated 210 bags of white rice, 500 bushels of husk rice, 700 machetes, 350 farming knives and 700 hoes to farmers in Manonkoh to support households affected by flooding in the area.
