Miss & Mr. Afro-Caribbean UK Scholarship Pageant

The Launch party for Miss & Mr. Afro-Caribbean UK Scholarship Pageant was held on the 17th August at the Arubar Lounge, 524-528 Forest Road, Walthamstow, London, UK.

This being the first pageant of its kind in the UK, where nineteen contestants from Africa and the Caribbean will be competing to win a Degree Scholarship with Christ College London, valued at £5000 per scholarship. The profits from the night will go towards the winners chosen school in the country that they are representing to support the school educational needs.

Various High Commissioners and Ambassadors attended to support the MMACUK pageant 2013.

H.E Mr Cenio E. Lewis- High Commissioner for St. Vincent & the Grenadines give a heart warming speech to the 100+ audience who attended on why he is supporting such a cause. He highly praised founder; Alicia Martina Hixon for putting together such a wonderful event but most of all bringing awareness to the flight that many countries are facing with their youth.

Alicia Martina Hixon, who addressed the audience, stated that she comes as a voice for the young people in Africa and the Caribbean, who can’t access basic needs, especially education. She stated that they are many children without guardians as young as four years old that are strongly in need of this kind of assistance. She also stated that CAMS PRO UK is willing to work with other organisations, who are working towards the same aims but in a different capacity to create a 360 degree circle around the children that they will be supporting.

The Grand Finale of the Miss & Mr. Afro-Caribbean UK Scholarship Pageant will be held on the 5th October 2013, at the Walthamstow Assembly Hall, Forest Road, E17 4HD.
