Delivering his victory speech minutes after the announcement of the results, Mr. Koroma congratulated all those that took part in the process, and promised to take a new direction in the affairs of their organization.

He called on his losing opponents and the general membership of the organization to see themselves as a one large family and work for the good of the organization.

He maintained that the struggle for their emancipation would continue until they succeed. He called on non Governmental organizations, the government and individuals to stop neglecting them and come to their aid.

He stressed that he will explore all avenues to regain the plot of land in Grafton which was allocated to them by government but has been currently encroached upon by unpatriotic individuals.

Talking on behalf of the two losing contenders, Mr. Saidu Conteh aka Pap-Side, he said he was not surprised at the outcome of the election. He said they accept the leadership of Mr. Amara Koroma and that they would work with him to develop their organization.

The Commissioner of the election, Mr. Momoh E. Mansaray, from the Sierra Leone Union of Disability Issues (SLUDI), described the election as free, fair and peaceful. He congratulated the contestants and implored them to embrace peace and unity amongst themselves.

Mr. Amara Koroma is currently working on the appointments of other executive members and plans for their inauguration.
