‘I sold the vehicle to Sylvia Blyden’ says Momoh Konteh

International business tycoon, Momoh Konteh, has denied dashing out a very expensive jeep to the Special Executive Assistant (SEA) to President Koroma, Dr. Sylvia Blyden, saying he sold it to her.

Recently, sections of the media claimed that Momoh Konteh offered Sylvia Blyden the vehicle in question for obvious reasons, a matter that is currently being investigated by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).

Mr. Konteh told this medium that he had no reason to bribe or gift a very expensive jeep to Sylvia Blyden for whatever reason, adding that as a businessman, he has every right to transact business with any individual, Dr. Blyden being no exception.

He disclosed that he sold the said vehicle to Sylvia Blyden for $USD 9,600 which she paid in three installments before it was handed to her along with the necessary documents.

He maintained that this is not the first time he has done such business with people, saying there are documentary evidences to prove that he has been selling vehicles to interested buyers.

He insisted he had no relationship with Dr. Blyden who, according to him, thought it imperative as a journalist then to show the public that the Al-Jazeera Tiber-gate documentary was a “montage.”

“I believe she was doing her job as any other responsible journalist could have done, which was to show that I was not guilty of any wrongdoing based on the documentary as was later proven by the court,” Momoh Konteh underlined.

He said he neither hired Sylvia to defend him nor did he pay, bribe or compensate her in whatever form for “setting the records straight”. “All what she did was out of her own volition for which I remain grateful to her”.
