Parliament engages ministry on state of education

Speaking in parliament during the session, Chairman of the committee, Hon Sulaiman Sesay said as a committee they were very much concerned about the state of the educational system in relation to the girl child education project, the status and condition of service of teachers in the country, schools infrastructure and the general state of the entire educational system in the country.

The Chairman observed that parliament and the ministry need to collaborate in order to promote quality education in the country.

Responding, the Minister of Education, Dr. Minkailu Bah, while thanking the committee members, expressed appreciation of what he referred to as a good interactive session, adding that his ministry was doing well in the education sector.

Briefing the committee, officials of the ministry outlined the achievements made so far by the ministry in improving the educational system in the country.
