Sierra Express Media Sports UK can now reveal that the Europe League Champions, Chelsea FC, has released Sierra Leonean born Aziz Deen Conteh (in photo) age 20, with seven other players from their squads.

Amongst the list of eight are five prominent names, Henrique Hilario, Ross Turnbull, Paulo Ferreira, Florent Malouda and Yossi Benayoun.

Also leaving is young duo Amin Affane and Archange Nkumu after failing to meet the required standards at youth and reserve level.

Newly appointed Sierra Leone coach Johnny McKinistry selected Aziz Deen Conteh in his squad for two World Cup qualifying matches in June against Tunisia in Freetown and away to Cape Verde.

Conteh who recently committed to play for his country of birth Sierra Leone is a former Waterloo youth player, who started his career aged 10 before he signed a two year professional contract with Chelsea FC, but will not be able to impress the Chelsea new manager Jose Mouhrino.

He left Waterloo and progressed to Chelsea Academy as a 14-year-old, since then he has played for England U16’s in the Sky Victory Shield in 2009, the FA Youth Cup Final – Chelsea v Aston Villa FC.

The Sierra Leonean was voted Players Player of the Year 2010 and before promoted to the Chelsea Reserves and England U19’s squads, which is an amazing achievement. Aziz grew up in the Elephant and Castle area.
