Chairman Absconds With Millions in Sierra Leone
The Chairman of the Bike Riders Union (BRU), East Ward District, Mr. Anthony Navo, is reported to have run away with the sum of Le8 million meant for the Union. The money is said to be the salaries and contributions of the bike riders.
According to source from the BRU branch at the SLPMB compound, Wellington, Mr.Navo collected the said money to pay a three month salary drawback for April, May and June, but escaped with it as soon as he collected it from the headquarter office of the Sierra Leone BRU.
Mr. Navo’s criminal behavior is reported to have provoked palaver among the bike riders, some of whom have vowed that if they do not receive their salaries, they will impound the bikes entrusted to them.
According to the bike riders, this is not the first time Mr. Navo is escaping with huge sums of money, he has become notorious for such criminal activities but the riders are determined that this time, he will definitely not go scot-free as they hunt him out and have him apprehended by the police.
