Kola Tree benefits from newly constructed hospital

Speaking in an exclusive interview, the proprietor of the newly constructed hospital, Alusine Gabison Senesie intimated that health care is his main priority aimed at salvaging the sufferings of poor people who cannot afford the cost of medical treatment elsewhere. Giving a background to the initiative, Mr. Senesie said he started his project in 1998 when he operated a small clinic of this venture at the Mount Aureol community in Freetown.

He said that he came to settle in the Kola Tree community he embarked on so many development activities such as road maintenance, capacitate youths in their social activities and the provision of health facility.

He said that the construction of the newly constructed hospital cost him over Le 400 million without any external support. This he said was done to actualize the president’s dream of achieving sustainable health for poor Sierra Leoneans.

He said the hospital has all what it takes to have a well equipped hospital with 18 staff including a doctor in charge in the person of Dr. Thollie of the Ola During Hospital in Freetown. He said in addition, there are three Matrons, 20 beds, an Observation room, Emergency care, a Lab technician, among others.

Mr. Deen Senessie maintained that the hospital will treat several ailments like Malaria, typhoid fever and infections like sexual transmitted diseases (STD/STI) and general illness with the exception of surgery, adding that measures will be put in place to ensure that his staff are well paid for their services as he deserves nothing but good service delivery as his Motto is ‘My Country first and My Service to the Community’.

He recalled that last year, the Deen Medicine Hospital (DMH) was able to treat up to 261 cases of cholera without any fatality, assuring that the DMH will be considered as one of the best hospitals in the east end of the municipality in terms of quality service delivery.

The Honorable Member of Parliament Representing the Constituency 96 Hon. Alhassan Kamara stated that there is no success in life without setting up a positive goal as it is a clear manifestation down by Mr. Deen as he is a developmental oriented man.

In that regard the Hon. Alhassan Kamara donated the sum of Le 5 million support towards the development of the Hospital adding that he had also spend the sum of Le 5 million last year in support of the road maintenance of the Kola Tree.

He worship the deputy Mayor of the Municipality Mary Jah of constituency 109 thanked Mr. Deen for his good intention he have for the community as the action down is no secret that Mr. Deen is a hard working gentle man of which she too donated two hospital beds to promote the good work on behalf of the Council.

Several dignitaries were in attendance to grace the occasion like the Pathologist Dr. Owerson Koroma who is part of the administration Management of the Hospital and the doctor in charge Dr. Thulley stated that the process is to bring stability in the community and encourage the community members to take the Hospital and bring along their pregnant women for Antenatal care.

Kekura Koroma one of the staff extended thanks and appreciation to the development as it is a step in the right direction in the area of the health sector. Mr. Kekura also introduced staff of the Hospital and the ethics of the various departments the Hospital will be focused on items of accident, laboratory, etc and assured the community to handle the hospital with care and repot illness to the hospital even if only for personal interest to  check for their status.
