Ansarul principal dismisses newspaper allegations

“All what has been written about me in the local press is false, untrue and unfounded”.

These were the exact words of Mr. JS Kamara, Principal of the Ansarul Islamic Secondary School in Mile 91, Tonkolili District in reaction to allegations that he impregnated two female pupils of the school.

According to the visibly aggrieved principal, the source of the allegation is one Mr. Mohamed Mustapha Fofanah, who formerly acted as Vice Principal of the school on the recommendation of the principal and endorsed by the Board of Governors of the school.

Mr. Kamara said while Mr. Fofanah acted as vice principal he also served as the school’s bursar. “But due to his malpractices, the position of bursar was removed from him,” the principal alleged. “This created the rift between him and me,” he added.

Mr. Kamara said following his removal as bursar, Mr. Fofanah distanced himself from all school activities and later declared publicly on Radio Gbaft in Mile 91 that he will no longer serve as teacher of the school. “This was followed by his letter of resignation as teacher of the school which I acknowledged and served him a letter of ‘Release’,” the principal stated.

Mr. Kamara said when the allegations were published in the newspapers and brought to Mile 91, Mr. Fofanah bought copies, photocopied them and distributed them among pupils and teachers of the school including other members of the Mile 91 community.

Meanwhile, the Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools in Tonkolili District are said to have expressed interest in matter.

Our reporter in the district tried in vain to contact Mr. Fofanah for his comments, however, his comments will be published whenever available
