Matorma gunfire… one captured
Alleged killer of Manso Wadi Sesay, a member of the Motorma Secret Society, was captured in a village in the Tonkoh Limba Chiefdom.
Reports say family members of the deceased chased the assailant, one Sitta up in the provinces and captured and brought him to Freetown over allegations that he was the one who triggered a witch gun shot on the deceased.
Sitta was reported to have allegedly openly confessed that he conspired with other unknown persons and shot Manso Sesay, a friend of theirs, with a witch-gun.
A local authority, Chief UD who handled the matter, reportedly gave the alleged shooter seven days to heal Sesay, and that Sitta should stay with the deceased and look after him, but he however flouted the order and sneaked hiding in his house. Sources say he was only discovered when the patient had died.
Taking the corpse to the cemetery on Monday, community youths in Sumaila Town and environs chanted words of revenge against the killing of a man they referred to as useful in society. Members of the community said the deceased was seen in a dream carrying two stones in his hands; desperate for revenge.
Sitta Turay was said to have been a chartered mercenary earning his living from firing people with witch means.
