Kono killings…Who is behind the Koidu Holdings stand-off in Sierra Leone?
Cogent reports at our disposal confirm that there is a certain ill-motivated politician in Kono that is instigating junior staff members of Octea Group of Companies (formally Koidu Holdings Ltd.) to use strike actions against underpayment.
The workers are alleging that their actual salary is supposed to be US $500 per person.
This impasse resulted in the firing of live bullets which incidentally led to loss of lives.
Reports streaming into our news file from the Eastern Provincial Kono District indicate that the said politician (name withheld ) is said to be clandestinely stirring up the brawl between these riotous staff and the Octea Group of Companies because of his plans to frustrate the mining companies and replace them with an American mining company of his interest.
