African Hero Appointed Finance Minister

This is the man that His Excellency Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has, in his wisdom, appointed to head our Finance Ministry.
Dr. Marah was Public Finance Advisor in the Governance and Institutional Development Division at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. His extensive years of experience on the international scene saw him being responsible for operationalsing the Commonwealth Heads of Government Mandate on Public Expenditure Management. He also provided advisory training and policy development services to developing Commonwealth countries.
Marah was Chief of Staff in President Koroma’s first Government and performed remarkably well in that capacity. He has also contributed immensely to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals for Sierra Leone.
As an internationally recognised public finance expert, Dr. Marrah’s appointment as Finance Minister has been described by many Sierra Leoneans as a step in the right direction. He is indeed a round peg in a round hole – that is, the right man for the role.
