Usman Boie Kamara provides new Masjid for Kaningo, Sierra Leone
Hundreds of Muslims and community Elders on Friday after Juma prayer assembled at the newly constructed Masjid (Mosque) Nabawiya Kaningo community thanking Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara for his gesture to Muslim worshipers in that part of the capital city.
The process of constructing the mosque spanned over a month ago during the visit of Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara (Usu Boie) to the community where he promised to assist in the construction of a mosque.
In his address to the people, Sheik Daboh commended the generous effort of Usu Boie in alleviating the plight of the people of the Kaningo Community who have been using an unfinished building as a place of worship.
The Sheik recalled that during his snap visit to Kaningo, members tabled three major requests to Usu Boie including the construction of a Mosque (Masjid), the provision of a playing field that will unite Kaningo youths and community elders, and lastly the construction of a bridge that will link Sheriff Drive, Malama and the Kaningo communities.
Sheik Daboh also commended Usu Boie for his timely response to their request. He described as historic the occasion marking the official opening of the mosque which was funded by Usu Boie. The Sheik explained further that ‘on behalf of the Masjid and the Kaningo Community I will live to tell the story”.
Responding, Usu Boie pointed out that among the three requests made by the people he has chosen to honor the most appropriate which is the construction of the Masjid.
“President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma in his wisdom has championed the Agenda for Prosperity and the construction of this mosque is a way of supporting his agenda,” Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara remarked.
He encouraged well meaning Sierra Leoneans to emulate such example in assisting the poor, needy, and deprived citizens of Mama Salone and urged everyone to take a leadership role to make Sierra Leone a proud and prosperous nation. He further called on the elders and Imams of the newly constructed Masjid to make good use of the opportunity.
