CBF Academy names next generation of boys

Following a nationwide scouting process in which 7,000 boys were trialled over 12 months, the Craig Bellamy Foundation is pleased to announce that it has signed up 17 new recruits to join its elite football academy.  (Photo: l-r Sulaiman Bah and Johnny McKinstry)

From January 2013, the 17 new boys (dubbed ‘the second generation’) will go to school, attend football training and live at the Foundation’s Academy in Tombo. The boys, all aged 11 – 12, were awarded five year scholarships to the Academy and new classroom and dormitory blocks have been built to accommodate them.

Johnny McKinstry, Academy Manager, said; “The standard of football at our trials was extremely high, and we took a long time to decide on the right boys for this opportunity. I am  very pleased with all of our selections and look forward to welcoming the next generation of Sierra Leone’s academic and footballing talent to the Academy in January.”

The boys are as follows:

  • Baillor Jalloh, Kenema
  • Abu Bakar Kamara, Kambia

  • Brima Kamara, Freetown
  • Abdul Fatta Koroma, Freetown
  • Santigie Koroma, Freetown
  • Ahmed Tylo Mano, Kenema
  • Rodney Michael, Freetown
  • Joseph Mustapha, Kenema
  • Joseph Sam, Freetown
  • Abdul Aziz Sankoh, Freetown
