Arson at Waterloo

Unidentified persons are reported to have committed the act of arson in the Waterloo Community despite efforts by various state actors in discouraging violent activities.

According to the Local Unit Commander Superintendent, Edmond Issa  Conteh of the Waterloo Police Division, he confirmed that there are already two reported cases of arson in Waterloo, noting that the first incident resulted in a house completely burnt down during the election campaign and the other took place in the early hours of Wednesday 19th November.

The crime officer attached to the Waterloo-Tombo division, Madam Mondeh said they have received a report from one Madam Aminata Sesay of 14 Black- Pole Street, Waterloo, that over 200 irate youths set her house ablaze, adding that the house contains two bedrooms, a living room, and a store, which were completely destroyed.

According to Inspector Mondeh, the principal suspect is in police custody with ongoing investigations and will soon be charged to court.
