In Sierra Leone, Ernest Koroma to be Crowned Chief Carpenter
The National Coordinator of the National Union of Sierra Leone Carpenters has said that they intend to crown President Ernest Bai Koroma (in photo) as Chief Carpenter on Tuesday, November 13 this year, at a venue to be announced shortly.
Making the revelation to this paper yesterday, Mr. Sewa Simbo Conteh explained that they have been so impressed with the performance of President Koroma especially his creation of an enabling environment for the operation of carpenters that they see it as their national duty to publicly recognize him.
He further stated that they have over 8,000 members right across the country encompassing all regions, tribes, religions and political leanings.
Mr. Conteh stressed that their major objective in crowning the President was to propagate and project awareness into the minds of Sierra Leoneans to peacefully and without violence or sentiment overwhelmingly reelect President Koroma on the first ballot to give him a strong mandate that will enable him to complete his Agenda for change.
Also talking to this paper, the union’s National President, Mr. Augustine Gaima Lamin, revealed that they formed the union in 2001 with the sole aim of seeking the welfare and protecting the rights of carpenters in the country. He appealed to all carpenters to join the union.
