After a heroic battle in Tunisia…Leone Stars return home

The home based delegation of the national team, Leone Stars, on Tuesday 16th October 2012 arrived in Freetown after being eliminated by their Tunisian counterpart over the weekend in the qualifying round of the South Africa 2012 Nations Cup.

Leone Stars were eliminated by away goal rules and were held 2-2 in Freetown even though they played with 10 men for 65 minute and were also denied a clear goal scored in the dying minute by Sheriff Suma.

The squad that returned home after the exit of the team were leader of delegation Hon. Paul Kamara, Deputy Director Alphan Coker, Team Coordinator Sorie Ibrahim Sesay, Abdul Rahman Swarray James Fofanah, Team Doctor Ansumana, Team Masseur  Phillip Kor and players Mohamed Kallon, Christian Coker and Jor Jor.

Most fans say Leone Stars failed to qualify because they failed to do their assignment at home allowing the Tunisians to level 2-2 when they had all the advantage to win the match.
