Celebrating the life and work of an icon – Winston W Larose
On behalf of our long time Community Icon: Mr Winston W. LaRose, an influential leader from the Jane & Finch and its surrounding areas, CCACN Sports is leading the community in partaking at this year’s annual track & field meet in honor of Mr. LaRose’s work to Canadians, and in establishing an Academic and Sport Scholarship under his name.
Each year, our Elder celebrates his birthday by inviting children, families, members of the government along with Canadian & International sports celebrities, to join him in a 100 meters dash. This year is no exception! As we have seen two(2) vibrant nations of Jamaica & Trinidad and Tobago celebrate 50 years of independence, Mr. Winston W. LaRose is celebrating something even more greater…35 years of great service to the community AND his 75th birthday!
Mr. Winston W. LaRose was the Canadian and Ontario Seniors champion for 100m, 200m and high jump in 3 years. With such great individual achievements, Mr LaRose is even more remarkable as he continued to fight for the poor, the young, and the elderly each day.
We are asking for you, friends and family to join us at this year’s celebration of remarkable excellence in the community, and support the Winston W. LaRose Celebrity Invitational Track & Field Meet for “Academics and Sports scholarship,” on October 10th and October 13th, 2012 inside the York University Campus, at the Toronto Track & Field Center. This facility is also home to the 2015 Toronto Pan American Games Athletics, Track and Field competitions. Its a great way to kick off a major event of cultural imperatives into Canada.
