Woman in Police Net For Stealing in Church

A young lady Lucy Kamara of Elizabeth Street last Sunday ran out of luck when she was arrested for stealing at  Warren Church at Krootown Road.  Police sources at the Western Police Station intimated to this press that the same Lucy Kamara had earlier succeeded in stealing a mobile phone belonging to one Ms. Davies of the Bank of Sierra Leone while they were having a divine Christian service at the Christ Embassy Church at Adelaide Street, before she left for the Warren Church for another stealing spree.

Police further revealed that Lucy who is believed to be in her early twenties, went to the church where the youths were celebrating their youth fellowship thanksgiving service and sat close to one Mrs. Johnson.

As the worshippers went before the altar of the church to deposit their envelops, Mrs. Johnson also went before the altar leaving behind her handbag containing her vehicle keys, house keys, 2 cheques, 2 mobile phones, and the sum of Le500,000.

She raised the alarm when she discovered that her handbag was missing, and a little girl in the church said she saw a young lady that was sitting close to Mrs. Johnson take the bag and went outside the church. The angry youths in the church chased to her house where they caught her red handed with the bag.

Lucy confessed to the police that she stole the handbag but said there was only Le110, 000 in the bag instead of the Le500,000. She also told the police that she first carted away a mobile phone from the Christ Embassy Church.

Lucy Kamara is currently at the Western police station helping the police in their investigation.
