PDP to Hold Convention in Kambia

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is set to hold their delegates’ conference in the northern town of Kambia, the party’s interim scribe has said.

Dr. Prince Coker revealed that they resolved into hosting the delegates conference in Kambia because the party has formidable support in that part of the country.

August 25-27 are the dates earmarked for the convention, he told Sierra Express Media in an interview at his No 44 B Circular Road office in Freetown.

Dr. Coker paid tribute to the founding leader of the party, Hon. Thaimu Bangura and described him as an innovator to have established the PDP Sorbeh, and led it to a staggering height before his demise. He however pleaded for the backward trend the party has taken over the years under the leadership of Alhaji Osman Kamara, adding that he would have been the man who should have carried the steam of the party from where the late Thaimu Bangura left off, but let the members down.

The Secretary General assured that they are not coming into the race to be named but they are in as a formidable force to win the presidential race in the November 17, 2012.
