Principal fires 179 pupils
Bo, July 30 (SLENA): The Promotion and Administrative Committee of Nurat Jahan Ahmadiyya Girls Secondary School in Bo, headed by the Principal, Mr. Muhamed Joe Allie has requested one hundred and seventy-nine(179) pupils of that institution to voluntarily transfer themselves to any school of their choice in the regions or elsewhere outside Sierra Leone.
Briefing SLENA over the weekend, Mr. Allie said the committee made this decision at the end of the 2011/2012 academic year in which ninety-five (95) pupils were also asked to repeat their respective classes, come next academic year.
The pupils, he stressed, were shown the exit door of that school for various issue, ranging from having annual promotional grade below 39% for the two levels- JSS 1-2 and SSS-1-2.
Mr. Allie said some of these pupils were found guilty of gross indiscipline including influencing some teachers for marks and forming unholy alliance with others, a situation the school regarded unproductive, unethical and religiously distasteful and bitter for the smooth running of the school.
Meanwhile, eight teachers received verbal warning from the Board of Governors of the School headed by Honourable Legacy Sankoh.
