Aspirant addresses Abacha Street traders

Freetown, July 3 (SLENA) – An aspirant for the Mayorship of the Freetown Municipality has spelt out the following criteria: maturity, experience and development-oriented  as the expected qualities a potential candidate for the mayorship of Freetown must possess  to cope with the dream and integrity of His Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma.

Bishop Christian Cole (in pohoto) made this comment while addressing the Abacha Street traders at a meeting in Freetown to educate the traders on the third phase of the Biometric Election Sensitization Programme.

Introducing the aspirant to the traders, Mohamed Sallieu Kamara aka Power man, an Engineering student of Fourah Bay College, noted that God has indeed blessed the municipality if the Bishop is elected.

Mr. Kamara, who is also Chairman of Lower Sumaila Town Development and Assistant Secretary of the Western Area Muslim community said once his candidate was elected to the position he would dismantle education in the municipality by what he termed ‘connectocracy’ and be replaced with merit, and called on every progressive student in the municipality to support the Bishop.

The Chairman, Mr. Joseph Kamara alias Osoko, urged his compatriots to work together in love and harmony in order to maintain the hard-won peace.

He condemned violence and appealed to all to give President Ernest Bai Koroma’s Agenda for Change a chance, saying that peace is a pre-requisite for national development.

In her address, Chairlady of Abacha traders, Mrs. Kadiatu Kargbo alias K.K.I appealed for unity and cooperation within the ranks and described Bishop Christian Cole as a true patriot and thanked him for assisting in the cleaning of Freetown markets.
