Man of God Funds Road Maintenance

Youths at Mellon Street located in the Eastern part of Freetown Kissy have taken upon themselves to conduct maintenance on Melon and streets within the Melon Street vicinity through the intervention of a philanthropic man of God, Pastor Hassan Mansaray. Sierra Express Media has learnt that the pastor through his church last week donated the sum of sixty million Leones (Le 60,000,000) to the Mellon Street community in order to maintain the road leading to Tenneba Street, Kissy Bye pass road and linking many other major streets in the area.

Talking to the pastor, he said he and his church are doing this as part of their concern for the welfare of the people and community where the church is presently located.  The Pastor however revealed that he alone did not undertake the donation as members of his congregation agreed with him that the church should make its own contribution to the development of the community where their church is resident. The donation of the said amount brought together stakeholders in the community to hire a contractor who could be part of the community as well as incorporate the contributions of the community youths so the projects is accomplished at the said reasonable cost.

The project according to the advice given to the people was taken to the Sierra Leone Roads Authority for their approval which reports say was granted and was told to go ahead as anywhere their efforts stop will be complemented by the Roads Authority.
