Fadugu Field Officer Breaks Silence

Field Officer of Business Engineering Science and Technology Joe Musa implementing the Stabilized Agricultural Programme under the Bumbuna Hydro Project in Kakekor Village, in the Fadugu Chiefdom, Koinadugu District has disclosed that the project has helped in many ways to increase farmer’s rice production and also the rate of self reliance.

He said the motive of the project is to develop and rehabilitate swamps as a result seed rice of three varieties like Jasmine Rock B, Inland Swamps and Pakaima or Up land rice are normally supplied to five groups of farmers of which four of these are in Kafogo and Kakekoh respectively. 

Farmers benefiting from the project have whispered to this medium that they are not satisfied with the way and manner the project is going noting that some of the benefits like the supply of fertilizer, insecticide and other major components in the project are not forthcoming hence they are calling for the Government to monitor the project for the general good of all.
