Mrs. Sia Nyama Koroma reaffirmed her commitment to the APC and the development of the country asserting that the bus stop is the beginning of greater things to come for Constituency 96 and assured that she is always ready to work for deprived women and children.

She further urged the people not to always depend on government but to undertake development projects such as raising awareness to eliminate the high rate of road accidents in Allen Town, the gateway to the city and called on Sierra Leoneans to adhere and support President Ernest Bai Koroma’s Agenda for Change and his ongoing development strides.

According to the First Lady, Mr. Alhassan Kamara is a member of the renowned APC Australia Branch, she lauded and described him as developmentally-oriented for undertaking several development projects in the constituency.

The APC East District Chairman, Amadu Bangura, who chaired the ceremony, commended the First Lady for gracing the event reiterating that the district and constituency executive are not mandated to support or select any aspirant for the award of the APC symbol and assured that the East District would sweep the parliamentary seats in the November polls citing the very encouraging registration figures.

Constituency 96 Chairman, Samuel B. Conteh, who gave the welcome address, acclaimed the First Lady for her presence, an indication that she is complementing President Ernest Bai Koroma’s agenda for change to advance the country.

Samuel B. Conteh further stated that five aspirants have declared interest to contest the parliamentary seat in the constituency under the APC ticket and assured all of fair play and transparency in the selection process but underlined that only the popular candidate would be awarded the symbol emphasizing that the executive would support any candidate who embarks on development projects in the constituency.

He also highlighted the development projects undertaken by the APC government geared towards the transformation of the country among them road construction and the free healthcare scheme.

Haja Fatmata Sesay, Constituency 96 Chairlady expressed similar sentiments stressing that the party would win the November polls.

The Constituency Youth Chairman, Ibrahim Pony Koroma disclosed that the health center is in a deplorable condition that makes it almost impossible for the community to access the free healthcare scheme, lamented the absence of employment opportunities and urged government to put premium on youth employment as they form the majority of the population.

He also appealed to government, through the First Lady, for the construction of a health center and market.

APC Regional Chairlady, Kainde Bangura admonished parents to send their children to school, especially the girl child.

Alhasan Kamara has undertaken several projects in the constituency including the clearing of a mountainous dust bin at the Allen Town playing field and cleaning exercises for which residents in the community are applauding him as the right choice for the symbol.
