St. Anthony’s U-13 team to compete in Ghana

St. Anthony’s Primary School, the reigning U-13 Primary School champions in the country are set to represent Sierra Leone in a six nations Under 13 primary school football competition slated to take place in Ghana from the 9th-15th of April this year.  (Photo: Coach Amidu Koroma)

Participating countries include Nigeria, South Africa, Gambia, Liberia, Sierra Leone and host Ghana.

Speaking to St Anthony’s Games and Sports Master, Coach Amidu Koroma said his team is currently undergoing intensive training at the National Stadium’s practice field ahead of the competition.

“We’ll be travelling to Ghana this weekend with 16 players and 4 officials and the head of Nestle Milo Milk brand, Madam Aminata Kabba will lead the delegation,” he said.

Concluding, Coach Freaky, as he is popularly known said the trip is being sponsored by Milo.

Moreover, the U–13 Inter Primary School competition commenced in the first week of March and the reigning champions, St Anthony defeated Ahmadiyya Primary school 2-0 in the grand final.

The champions were decorated with a giant gold trophy, gold medals, and a package for each player comprising cup, water bottle, and Milo milk.
