Musa Tarawally, Diana, JB Dauda snubs and VP Sumana is…

Battle linking Ministers, Councilors, and certainly Parliamentarians of the governing APC part –  for running mate – gives the impression of a snub to all and Vice President Sam Sumana is President Koroma’s choice come 2012.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Musa Tarawally, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Joseph Bandabla Dauda, Chairman Kono District Council, Diana Konomanyi, and others etc., are reportedly lobbying their way for running mate to President Koroma in the soon to come elections.

It’s been revealed that Musa Tarawally has had untiring moments coaxing executives of the APC to ‘blow his horn’ to President Koroma for running mate.

It is also disclosed that unnamed officers of the APC are in disagreement with the current Vice President and are reportedly not pleased hearing that he (VP) will be re-appointed as President Koroma’s running in the 2012 elections.

But insider revelations say however that President Koroma has resolved having his current Vice President as running mate in the coming elections.

That regardless of several opposing forces standing in the way of Vice President Sam Sumana – so to say – persons desperately lobbying family members and party bigwigs to have them convince President Koroma appoints either of them he seemingly has resolved re-appoint VP Sam Sumana for another term.

Indigenes of Kono District (home district of VP Sam Sumana) have wholeheartedly pledged their support for their ‘brother and son of Kono soil.’

Findings also have it that the Konos, in some way, have threatened to quit and not vote for the ruling APC at all should President Koroma refuse re-appointing Vice President Sam Sumana as his running mate in 2012.

Unconfirmed revelations indicate however that a number of APC politicians over-excitedly engaged the media thus transmitting information that is unfavourable to the Vice President.

It is a fact that the Minister of Internal Affairs, Musa Tarawally, some months ago, made an unannounced visit to Kono District, which afterwards resulted in serious chaos; and which saw bodyguards of the forenamed Minister discharging live bullets against defenseless civilians.

The visit, according to findings, was designed to have youths, elders, and Chiefs of Kono District support Musa Tarawally as he battles for APC running mate come 2012.

It is disclosed nevertheless that Diana Konomanyi and other Ministers want President Koroma to not appoint VP Sam Sumana, but one of them.

  • Sam Sumana’s father was a strong supporter of APC during difficult times in Kono. He too has demostrated that quality by standing up for APC at crucial times in Kono as well as the whole country and not when thing are easier now. So Sam Sumana is more APC than them all. The VP position needs a real APC man and not someone who will take our party back to SLPP.
