The 9th December had since October 2003 set aside by the United Nations General Assembly as International Anti-Corruption Day.  As such, State Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) during this period should raise awareness on corruption and ways of preventing and combating the scourge.

This year, the Anti-Corruption Commission Sierra Leone commemorated this day nationwide in diverse ways all geared towards sensitizing and spreading anti-corruption messages to the public and particularly highlighting that corruption is a global problem.
