Charterhouse, a renowned Ghanaian marketing and event management firm, has lined up the giants of Nigerian stand up comedians to face their Sierra Leonean counterparts in a concert dubbed `a night of 1001 laughs and music`.

Popular Nigerian comedian/musician/actor Afametuna Klint Igwemma, aka Klint The Drunk, (in photo, credit thenigerianvoice.com) and two other Nigerians, Bash and Funny Bone, will face their Sierra Leonean equals Ernest Briwa, aka Vamboy of ‘Wanpot’ fame and Desmond Benya on stage at The Miatta Conference Hall on Saturday, September 3rd 2011.

Event Consultant for Charter House, Buer Okutu, told Salonejamboree at their branch office in Freetown that `a night of 1001 laughs and music` is the biggest comedy night in Africa. Okutu said the event, which will take the form of a series, has been successfully hosted in Ghana, and that the Sierra Leone show will be the maiden edition in the small West Africa country.

Also in the Sierra Leonean lineup are K-Man and Wahid.

“The local comedians think they are much more funny. Having them to perform with comedians perceived as the best in the continent, I think they see it as a big challenge,” Okutu said.

Charter House has been in Sierra Leone for the last two years.  According to Okutu, they are presently handling the marketing programs for Western Union.

The Ghana based company also has a TV station in the home country, GH 1, which provides content for DSTV.

Okutu told Salonejamboree that they organize the Miss Maliaka pageant show, Stars of the Future, the Ghana Music Festival and The Challenge, a reality TV show which provides a platform for business ideas and also gives capital and MBA scholarship to Europe.

“We put values on our artist, we change the face of Ghana entertainment industry. We want to replicate the same for Sierra Leone but it starts with `a night of 1001 laughs and music,”Okutu said.

He said tickets are now available at their 13 Wellington street office.  Okutu then assured all that they would get their monies worth.
