23 Year Old Man Stabbed To Death
23 year old Abubakarr Kargbo was stabbed to death by his football mate Kabba Bangura on 22nd Tuesday September 2009 at Sumaila Town in Freetown.
According to an eye witness, Komrabai Kargbo Abubakarr Kargbo and Kabba Bangura were playing football at the Sumaila Town community field when an argument ensued between them on international football issues and Kabba became aggravated and stabbed his counterpart to death in broad daylight and in full view of community people.
Witnesses say Kabba carried a knife with him wherever he went; which he took out to stab his football friend in cold blood. Community people, it is said, wanted to slay Kabbah there and then but for the rescue of security personnel manning the security of the nearby Pademba Road Maximum Prison.
The elder brother to Abubakarr Kargbo explained his disappointment at the loss of his kid brother to such careless flares as football issues.Â I went to work this morning leaving my brother alive and kicking and now he’s nowhere, gone forever.
Confirming this report, the Station Officer at the New England Police Station, Sergeant Hassan Bangura, explained that a group of youths came at about 5:30 p.m. to the station with claims that a Kabba Bangura living at Sumaila Town stabbed a friend of theirs – Abubakarr Kargbo, which he said the police have confirmed the death and are investigating the matter. The Station Officer informed Sierra Express that youths in the area are in the habit of stabbing each other and that the police have had many of such cases to court recently.
