SLPP & PMDC unpatriotic – Mohamed Bangura

The interim leader of the United Democratic Movement (UDM), Mr. Mohamed Bangura has described the SLPP and PMDC for boycotting the 50th Anniversary celebration as ‘unpatriotic and untimely.’

Addressing journalists at a press conference at the Atlantic Hall, National Stadium Friday 29th, Bangura said that the action of both the SLPP and PMDC undermines national interest and political tolerance.

However, he criticized the manner in which the national awards were given to individuals.

“There are many more individuals who have contributed immensely and whose names at least, should have been mentioned in list of persons honoured,” Bangura said.

“Ex-President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah, young members of the fourth estate, who on diverse ways have fought with their pens, university students etc.”

Bangura also blamed the President for not mentioning the names of former President Kabbah and former Vice President Solomon Berewa in his anniversary address to the nation.

  • I agree with Mr. Mohamed Bangura the interim leader of the proposed UDM party on the issue of award especially the former President Alhaji Ahmad Tijan Kabba. He is a man I admired when he said ‘At all cost I am going to sign a peace with the RUF) of the so called SLPP supporters and their unconstitutional rebel army (the Kamajors) castigate Kabba for behaving unconstitutionally by signing peace and in-cooperating the RUF and AFRC into state governance. Today if we are enjoying peace in Sierra Leone it is the firm stand kabba took through the support of the international community especially Britain that today Sierra Leone is enjoying peace. If it has been for the wish of SLPP and their kamajors, Sierra Leone would have been like another Rwanda. It is against this back drop that president Koroma should have awarded the former president for his firm stand in bring peace to our nation. As for Solomon Berewa, he is a killer and dehumanized a lot of people he deemed to be a threat to his political ambition.I see no reason why he should be awarded.
On the other issue of SLPP and PMDC, I cannot say much about PMDC because it is just a new political party and it is now showing its true colour. As for SLPP, they feel SLPP is Sierra Leone and Sierra Leone is SLPP. They are just day dreaming. Anything done in Sierra Leone, whether good or bad, in as much it is not SLPP that is organising it, it is useless and this is the party saying come September 2012 they will be at state house. It is only an illiterate and a blind man can wish to see the worst political party Sierra Leone has ever produce to see it come to power.
The 2002 election of “WUTETEH” was totally rigged with multiple voting. I have evidence of that as I was an election polling agent in the Kenema south. The same they had wanted to do in 2007 and therefore failure to achieve their goal, no matter if president Koroma brings Manna from heaven to Sierra Leone, SLPP will negatively respond to it.
Now SLPP is claiming to be democratic and how democratic are they when they are selfish, greed and power hungry. We know your plans and we have already detected them. LONTA!!!
