Police have netted a man on April 1st for stabbing his wife while she was taking a bath.

Mohamed Mansaray Friday stabbed his wife, Yankadae, after suspecting that she was from her boyfriend’s place at Garba School Community in Wellington east of Freetown.

Police sources indicate that Mohamed approached his wife to question her movement, but got a derogatory response.

He then confronted his wife with a knife, and later inflicted deep cut on her breast part.

Mohamed was later nabbed by police detectives attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Kissy Police Station, where he now answers to allegations of wounding, and wounding with intent, contrary to sections 18 and 20 of the offences against persons act.

The wife, Yakadae Mansaray, is reportedly hospitalized at the Sarolla Hospital after sustaining seventeen stitches to the wound on her breast. She also sustained a puffed-up jaw.

In his path, Mohamed told this press that on the day of the incident, he was at his Thunder Hill residence around 11:30 a.m. when he observed his wife Yankadae, rushing to the bathroom.  He followed her to the bathroom and met his wife cleaning her private part as if after having extra sexual relationship with another man.

“Where are you coming from?” Mohamed asked his wife. “Go ask your mother not me,” the wife replied.

“Because you are unable to satisfy me, I’ve got a man that can better satisfy me,” responded his wife according to Mohamed.

This, he said, made him angry and straightaway he reached at a knife at the kitchen and stabbed Yakadae whilst she was taking a bath.

The wife was rescued by the neighbours. Mohamed was arrested and frog marched to Kissy police where he is now helping the police in their investigation.
