Sierra Leone’s Caulker to play goalkeeper against AIK

Sierra Express Media understands that the Sierra Leone National team’s first choice goalkeeper, Christian Caulker, now with newly promoted Swedish Superettan side Vasteras SK, will be making his debut against Swedish former Champions AIK Solna in a pre-season friendly this Saturday at their Råsunda Stadium.

Today it is confirmed that Caulker , aged 22 in an interview on the club’s website states that he wants to make his loan move permanent.

He will be keeping the post against two national and former local club teammates as Mohamed and Ibrahim Bangura are both expected to be in AIK shirts come Saturday.

According to VSK officer Hans Johansson, the club is expected to do well with the Sierra Leonean keeper with an option to buy him.

The fine acrobatic goalkeeper was sent on trial from local club FC Kallon and is now an option for VSK.

“It’s good for me to be here. The club has great players, but it is different from Africa. I’m trying to learn from the coaches.”
“Physically they are fit, yes. And it’s wonderful. I like the way they play. It is very, very good, “said Caulker.

He started making a great impact at the international level after his debut in 2007 aged18 against Mali which was an outstanding debut for the young goalkeeper.

He was also part of Sierra Leone’s recent shocking result in Cairo holding the African Champions to a 1-1 draw before hosting South Africa in Freetown; again Caulker proved his time has come for the European big league!
